Upon its original publication, Walking the Nile swiftly became a Sunday Times Top 10 bestseller peaking at number 6, with the accompanying TV series airing on Channel 4 with around 2.8 million viewers tuning in for the opening episode. It went on to become the channel’s highest rating factual series of 2015 and subsequently aired in over one hundred territories globally, including on Animal Planet in the US, where the book was published by Grove Atlantic.
