We’re overjoyed to announce an exciting new adventure for Amanda Owen, the Yorkshire Shepherdess, as she steps into the world of children’s literature. Amanda's enchanting storytelling is about to captivate a brand new audience, spanning picture books, non-fiction and middle-grade fiction in a 7 book deal with Puffin, negotiated by Wolfsong. Set to launch in September 2025, the first book, Christmas Tales from the Farm, is a wonderful collection of festive short stories for children age 8-12, inspired by real-life rural escapades and the characterful farm animals that call Ravenseat home. With beautiful illustrations by Becca Hall throughout, children will enjoy tales of mischievous lost sheep, abandoned chickens in search of a loving home, a playful runaway reindeer and much more, all told with Amanda's trademark warmth and humour. Christmas Tales from the Farm will be published by Puffin on September 11th 2025.
Errol Reuben Fernandes x Yeo Valley Organic Garden Festival
To round off the summer festival season, horticulture expert Errol Reuben Fernandes will be appearing at the Yeo Valley Organic Garden Festival this September, bringing his expertise in sustainable, low-impact gardening to three sessions across the weekend. On Friday 18th, Errol joins John Little and the Yeo Valley team for 'Scrap Happens: Turning a New Leaf with Resilient Gardening', exploring the inspiration behind the site's new rubble garden and how waste materials can be creatively reused outdoors. On Saturday 19th, he takes part in 'Shed 101', a light-hearted panel discussing the plants each speaker would select or avoid for their ultimate garden line-up. Later that day, Errol presents his own 'Garden Alchemy' talk, looking at how construction waste, rubble and hardcore can be transformed into biodiverse, wildlife-friendly and climate-resilient garden spaces. Tickets are available via the festival website.
