Dr. Paul Manktelow is a renowned and respected veterinarian.

Dr. Paul Manktelow is a renowned and respected veterinarian with over two decades of frontline experience in some of the UK's busiest veterinary hospitals. As a Chief Vet in the charity sector, Paul has led large teams in providing exceptional care to thousands of pets each year. Paul studied Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at Glasgow University before joining PDSA (People's Dispensary for Sick Animals) where he worked for over 18 years, heading up 15 large veterinary hospitals nationally. Since 2022, he has been the Director of Veterinary Services at Blue Cross. 

 

Paul combines over 20 years of front line expertise with engaging public communication and he regularly posts informative content across his social media platforms and as host of the popular pet lifestyle podcast, The Consult Room. He has written articles for the likes of The Times, Huffington Post, The Telegraph and Dogs Monthly. Paul is currently a brand ambassador for SuperDog (part of Vitabiotics) and he has also worked for the past two years on campaigns with Seresto. A dynamic public speaker, Paul's clients have included the British Equine Veterinary Association conference and the Society for Practising Veterinary Surgeons (SPVS) and he was also recently invited to be a guest judge at the annual Animal Charity Awards. TV presenting credits to date include Junior Vets (CBBC), Animal Madhouse (C4), Bizarre Animal ER (BBC3), The 5 O'Clock Show (C4), The Alan Titchmarsh Show (ITV), Sky News, and This Morning (ITV). For the past four years, Paul has been the resident veterinary expert and presenter on C4's four day Crufts coverage, working alongside Clare Balding and Radzi Chinyanganya. He also co-presented ITV's Goodwoof coverage in 2022 and 2023.

 

When he's not in front of the camera or in the recording studio, Paul offers consultancy services to TV companies developing pet-related projects in need of veterinary expertise. Paul is also the proud guardian of three-year-old Terrier, Rodney, who is becoming a bit of a star in his own right with multiple TV and branded content appearances to his name.
